Great convenience for an older handicapped person .

Best car I’ve ever owned! I thank the leaders of GM for giving the C8 design and engineering team a blank canvas to design, build and perfect this amazing American sports car.

I love that I can start my car from an app. And if I need to make my car lock go into app and use lock mode. It gives the reading of your oil and let you know if the car has issues. I just don’t like it’s ran by OnStar. I feel you should be able to keep without being pushed to get other stuff on OnStar. But great app!

Unlike other car starters I have had, this one holds a certain mystique. Did it start? Did it not start? Will it respond at all? Will it start the car in 5 minutes? No one knows….

Idk if it’s just me or the phone or what. But no where did I read that they would be taking away the keypass feature? I can’t find it at all on the app and nothing is popping up. Maybe someone can reach out to me and help?

The app is now worthless to Volt owners. No EV & gas mileage. No charging status information. Bring these back!

The app won't alert me anymore when my car arrive or leave my home, please fix an update asap. The app constantly says technical issues. The app keeps saying I don't have OnStar. I still can't get alert when I arrive or leave my home.

Why was the ability for Volt owners to see the charging status, change charge time (immediate or delayed) and see the number of electric miles removed? Now the app is useless if you don’t use remote start.

When I updated the software (required to keep it functional), the option to charge at 120 volts, 12 amps disappeared. Contacted support, they seemed to be unaware of this. Without 12 amp charging I must supplement home charging with public chargers.

Please bring back tire pressure info !!! It was good to know whenever my car had low tire pressure

I love the app but fix the Apple Watch app!

When loading a destination it does not show the route or give options or filters. When driving it seems to take backroads that when pulling a 35 foot trailer are to extreme.

Unusable due to security layers… you should have developed better security protocols… tried again… can not get past confirmation number… will not accept codes you send and I had to resend to get it the first time… piece of trash

I’ve been using the app since I purchased my Tahoe last year. The app could inform us that our vehicle is locked and all the windows including the sunroof is closed and secure. The updates erase the nickname and I have to update the nickname every time. The app could also allow us to view a scheduled maintenance and allow us to modify or change the appointment through the app without going through the account portal.

The redesigned app no longer shows battery level or estimated range, except for when charging is complete. If I tap that notification I can get to charging status, but not from the app itself!

Does not stay up to date on health issues, millage or fuel percentage.

The app update lost checking volt battery ev range status!

This app used to show the charge percentage level on my plug in hybrid. Instead now its completely gone and the app works even worse

App rarely connects and takes several refreshes to do so. Most of the time, must force close the app, restart phone and login without biometrics. Ridiculous. It’s faster to go to my car and look at the charge level than use the app. The other car in the family is a Ford and that app connects to the vehicle instantly and gives real time data.

His purchased a new suburban. The app was fine however now the only thing that I can do is schedule service. I logged out, logged back in, deleted and reinstalled the app, nothing changes. The app is worthless now.

The recent app update 7.6.1 (Build 429) changed the interface for my 2017 Chevrolet Volt. It removed the data about the battery, and the connectivity issues I have had often remains. This is a PHEV, and I lost all the battery and charging information! It’s really a waste of my money when important features are removed or unreliable.

I simply love being able to control my SUV while inside of my house. I no longer have the fear of being locked out of my suv

UDATE 2025-04-12: Kudos to the GM social media team for at least acknowledging reviews from customers and offering a bit of support when there are issues. Hopefully, they have adequate access to the development teams to share feedback to make meaningful improvements more likely. ORIGINAL REVIEW 2025-04-07: It’s confusing that version 7.6.0 appears to have removed drive battery charging and charge level status for Volts. Is this feature permanently deprecated? The app had already been inconsistent with support for push notifications when battery charging completes. But removing anything to do with the drive battery status at all for PHEVs is not an appropriate fix for those issues. The app update does have a pretty design that appears user-friendly and approachable. But it needs to retain and improve the previously-existing features. Battery charging status is my primary reason for keeping an OnStar subscription and for using this app. Thank you in advance for restoring this functionality ASAP.

Being able to monitor and start my vehicle from the app is positively wonderful!

It should not cost extra to use the app!!

You never realize how great an app can be u til you have it. Being able to control your truck or vehicle from your phone is like no other!

UPDATE: the canned response of “email us with further info”! I did that already, at the same time I wrote this review! What is the point of on start remote controls when I can not utilize them!!! GM, do better! If you really cared you would reach out to your customers, not tell them to email you (which I have)! ORIGINAL:Can not see charge status or any info about EV for 2017 Volt! Complete waste of an app now! Please fix this ASAP! This app is useless to me, I care about my battery range, not fuel (gas) range or oil life in the app! Add back charge info!!!!

I absolutely love this app. Being able to start my suburban from Inside the building at work when it’s cold out is the best thing ever. Also love how it’ll tell you why the check engine light is on!

Looks like the last update took away Apple Watch support. Was a nice feature… After searching the web they pulled Apple Watch support to actually fix it. It should return in the future. Thank you Helen for the update! Keep up the great work!

With this new update I can’t see my EV charging status on my 2017 Volt.

Remote start is working sporadically.since last updat

Multiple updates and still no charge status or EV status for Volts. Fix this issue already

After the recent significant application refresh, I can no longer monitor my Bolt’s battery status. I’ve logged in and out, deleted the app and reinstalled, all with no improvement. The remote functions for climate and doors still work and ironically, I get alerts when charging is complete. But I can’t see state of charge in the app.

I appreciate this app but am disappointed that it is no longer available on my Apple Watch as well as my phone.

Recent app update seems to have broke a bunch of functionality. Range display on main page just shows “—“ miles. Under Vehicle Status page, I’m no longer seeing charging status, battery status, tire pressures, odometer broken out by gas vs EV, or other information. Literally just shows the fuel tank, oil life, and total mileage.

Remote start is so fantastic. It just makes life so much easier in the morning.

Long delay

The update took out the unique picture I had for my vehicle. I have a zr2 bison and it actually showed the bison version in the app. Now it just shows a generic Colorado?! Why do these apps go backwards and remove the good stuff that people like?! My iPad version is 7.4.0 which is one model older and that loads my vehicle le peoperly… guess the update has some things to work out.

Got rid of the only thing I used it for. Trash

I’m not sure if there’s been an update but all of a sudden I can’t find the lock and unlock via app. Am I the only one.?

Honestly the app is pretty good I just don’t like that they took away the option to set the temperature of the AC from the app.

I pay for the app, the added features basically so I can remote start my car. It only works about half the time. I’ve had everything looked at on my vehicle and it’s not a vehicle issue. It’s an app issue. When it was time for me to renew, they gave me a 15% discount. Next time when it’s time to renew, if this still isn’t fixed, they’re not getting my business.
